The budget line still says exhibits. The room it bought does not.

Merck put its new HIV program on a plenary stage. Fierce Pharma reported on September 28 that Your Hive of Whole Health debuted at a premier plenary session at the US Conference on HIV/AIDS in Anaheim, alongside cultural performances and what the program calls purposeful moments for attendees to learn and connect.

The interesting choice here is the room, not the creative. At a medical congress the exhibit hall is the space a brand buys, and the plenary is the space the field gives to whoever it believes is advancing the work. Both rooms hold the same people and grant entirely different permission.

The program itself runs to a website and a 49-page workbook covering blood sugar, bone health, mood, and social needs. None of that is product messaging. It reads as a bid to be useful in the part of the congress where the field decides what matters.
